Orientation is mandatory for all new students to complete

The orientation requirement may only be satisfied by completing the online orientation module or by attending a full in-person orientation session.

Advising requirements and policies

Advising requirements and policies are handled by your academic college and major department. For help with contacting your academic advisor, visit https://www.fullerton.edu/academic-advising/find-my-advisor/index.html.

Returning students

Returning students are students who were previously enrolled at CSUF, left the university, and are now re-enrolling. Returning students who were last enrolled either full-time or part-time within the past calendar year are not required to complete or attend Orientation. All other returning students are still required to complete or attend Orientation, including those previously enrolled in Open University.

Orientation fee

Orientation fees are subject to change.

  • The Orientation fee for new students is $150.
  • The Orientation fee is non-refundable. If you withdraw from CSUF or your admission is rescinded, or you or your guest are unable to attend Orientation, we are unable to refund the Orientation fee.
  • Generally, financial aid may not be used to cover the Orientation fee.
    • If a student qualifies for financial aid and receives a refund, there is a possibility that the refund may be applied to cover the Orientation fee. However, this is not guaranteed and depends on the specific amount of the students refund.

Note: In some cases, Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) students may be eligible for an orientation fee deferral. This is indicated by a grayed-out 'Pay Now' button, which means the orientation fee will be due for payment at a later date.

Non-refundable orientation fee

Orientation fees are subject to change.

By registering for Orientation, you acknowledge that: you will be billed $150 for the Orientation fee; that these fees contribute to CSUF’s execution of Orientation, including Online Orientation software, meals and merchandise at Orientation, and staffing; that your financial aid package cannot be used to cover the Orientation fee; that if you qualify for a fee deferral, you are responsible for paying the Orientation fee by the posted deadline; that the Orientation fee is nonrefundable under all circumstances, including missing a session, withdrawing your application, your admission being rescinded.
