Mission

The purpose of CSUF Orientation is to provide new students and their parents and supporters with the tools, resources, and connections necessary for a successful academic, cultural, and social transition into CSUF. Through this mission, CSUF Orientation seeks to contribute to student persistence by supporting new students in building a holistic foundation for their first year at CSUF, encompassing connections to each other, campus resources, and the Titan Experience.

Students will be exposed to student involvement opportunities and begin to connect their interests to potential involvements.

Students will feel a sense of belonging in the CSUF community, be confident about their college choice, and feel excited for their first year at CSUF to begin.

Students will either make new and meaningful connections while attending in-person orientation and understand what opportunities are available to continue to meet other students while on campus. If completing online orientation, students will understand what opportunities will be available to them to meet other students once they arrive on campus.

Students will learn about academic tips and strategies for success relating to study habits, academic resources, building relationships with professors, and more.

New Student Orientation

All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation. There are two ways to fulfill this requirement: In-Person Orientation or Online Orientation.

At In-Person Orientation, students will spend a day on campus meeting other new students and learning about academic support resources, ways to get involved and connected on campus, and what it means to be a Titan. Students will also meet with their academic college to complete academic advising and to learn more about their major.

In-Person Orientation is offered in January for Spring 2025 admits.

Online Orientation is a virtual and asynchronous module that will educate students on everything that the campus has to offer, from academic resources, to campus jobs and involvements, to school history, and more. Online Orientation is meant for those who are unable to travel to campus.

Online Orientation is offered for Spring 2025 admits. As the module is asynchronous, it may be completed at any time between November through January.

NOTE: Orientation is separate from any other module or event put on by your academic college. All messages and requirements about Orientation will be sent from orientation@fullerton.edu . Only completing your academic college’s online module or only attending your academic college’s event will not fully satisfy the Orientation requirement.
