LGBTQ+ History Month 2023
Empowering LGBTQ+ Titans
LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. It was founded in 1994 and each year members of the community take pride in honoring the people that came before us. Additionally, National Coming Out Day is on the 11th of October, chosen to mark the date of the Second March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights in 1987. National Coming Out Day acknowledges the hardships of coming out, but also the joy and importance in being proud of our identities.
Cal State Fullerton celebrates LGBTQ History Month by putting on various programs and events surrounding the experience of queer and transgender people. Led by the LGBT Queer Resource Center, the campus creates spaces to celebrate queer and transgender idenitity, discuss systems that impact the community, and empower students to feel affirmed and confident in who they are.

Gender and Pronoun Use
Friday, October 6
10 - 11 a.m., via Zoom
This training will provide foundation information on gender, gender identity, and biological sex and highlight the difference between gender identity and sexual orientation. The training will provide best practices on how to incorporate pronoun usage in your day to day work and interactions that help foster a space for inclusivity and learning.

National Coming Out Week: 5th Annual LGBTQ+ Flag Raising

Join the LGBT Queer Resource Center for National Coming Out Week! This week-long of events includes our Rainbow Flag Raising, Resource Fair, and CSUF Drag Show. Hosted the second week of October in honor of LGBTQ History Month, join us for our 5th annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ identity and community! Join us on Tuesday, October 10th for the 5th annual LGBTQ+ Flag Raising at CSUF to celebrate National Coming Out Day. Come learn about the history of this day and what other exciting events are happening for National Coming Out Week and LGBTQ History Month. Grab some flags and stickers and information on coming out!

Through Our Lens: Queer Womxn of Color's Experiences of Healing and Liberation

“Through Our Lens” showcases a dynamic fusion of art and activism, offering a platform for QWoC to share their stories and perspectives on their own terms through the captivating medium of photography. More than a collection of photographs, the project delves into nine remarkable QWOC journeys of healing and liberation with nuanced perspective on the intricate web of cultural, societal, and personal factors that impact their lives. Through their lens, visitors will be transported into the world of these artists, bearing witness to the profound and transformative stories of healing, identity exploration, and self-acceptance.

National Coming Out Week: LGBTQ+ Resource Fair

On Wednesday, October 11th, come out to our Resource Fair featuring CSUF student organizations, campus partners & community organizations focusing on LGBTQ+ support. Get connected with groups like TitanWell & Viet Rainbow of Orange County to learn more about LGBTQIA+ specific services. Free food provided by ASI and music provided by Titan Radio, we hope to see you there!

National Coming Out Week: Transfer Student Mixer

Fall Concert Performance of Saunder Choi's "Verum Corpus"

Saunder Choi’s Verbum corpus for string quartet and chorus addresses trauma in the LGBTQIA+ community, most specifically transgender survivors of abuse and marginalization. Verbum corpus beautifully represents the transformation of pain and abuse to love and freedom via the support of sacred community.
