GENERAL IOS UPGRADE INFORMATION

Apple® continuously provides updates to iOS with fixes and enhancements.  To ensure software stability, the Division of Information Technology advises that you wait approximately two weeks before updating your mobile devices with the latest iOS version.  As with any software update, please be aware of the following:

  • Updates can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours to complete.
  • Updates take up space. You may need to delete files or apps to free up space or update by connecting your device to your desktop.
  • Updates may cause performance issues and some existing apps and services may not work as intended after the update. Please check with the app vendor for the intended iOS version.
