University Honors Program

Benefits of Participation

If you are a talented, highly motivated student who wants to get the most out of your collegiate experience, the University Honors Program is designed for you. First-time freshmen and transfer students are eligible to apply.

We offer a community of Honors students and faculty who are committed to academic excellence, creativity, critical thinking, and independent research. The Honors Program extends beyond the classroom, and helps students find their place in the university community. We are looking for well-rounded individuals who want to make a positive difference in their communities and future professions. Our Honors students represent diverse backgrounds and are from a wide range of majors.

The Honors Program provides a select group of students:
	Honors seminars featuring small class sizes (15 student maximum in most classes)
	Support in navigating the university system
	Access to the University Honors & Scholars Center, a special study lounge
	Close mentoring relationships with faculty and staff members
	Opportunity to develop an independent project in coordination with a faculty mentor
	Social activities with fellow Honors students
	Opportunity to study abroad and earn Honors credit
	Invitation to Honors Convocation AND Honors notation on official transcript and diploma
	Priority registration
