SHPA Officers
President: Naman Shah
Hey y’all! My name is Naman Shah and I am currently serving as the President of SHPA for the 2021-2022 school year. I am a fourth-year Biochemistry major, and I just recently applied to medical school! Throughout my time on campus, I have been fortunate to be involved in many aspects. Aside from serving as President of SHPA this upcoming year, I am currently a member of the Board of Directors for Associated Students Inc, representing the College of Natural Science and Mathematics. I am also an SI Leader for the Chemistry department, Treasurer of Latino Medical Student Association - Premedical Latino Undergraduate Society (LMSA+), President’s Scholar, member of the Honors Program, and I work in Dr. Curtis’s research lab to evaluate the presence of carcinogens in e-cigarette vapor. In my free time, I love to play basketball, watch the Lakers, spend time with my family and friends, and play word games! Vice President: Amaya Gregory
My name is Amaya Gregory and am currently serving as the Vice President for the 2021-2022 school year! I am originally from Northern California but have made Fullerton my home for the last four years after receiving the full-ride President’s Scholarship! I am a biology major concentrating in cellular and molecular biology with minors in chemistry and kinesiology, while also studying in the honors program! I have applied this cycle to both D.O. and M.D. schools and am hoping to participate in the Health Professions Scholarship Program through the Army! When not studying or in class, you can find me playing soccer for the CSUF women’s club team or at my favorite place, Disneyland!!

Hello! My name is Sim Singh, and I am the Public Relations Chair! I am a fifth year biology major concentrating in cellular and developmental biology, and I am working towards becoming a physician in the future. I am currently working as an emergency medical technician (EMT) alongside Pasadena Fire Department’s finest to gain field experience and general exposure to emergency medicine. When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy staying active and social through mixed martial arts and spending meaningful time with family/friends.
Treasurer: Joachim Kavalakatt
Hi! My name is Joachim, and I am a third year at CSUF studying biology! I am recently looking I apply to medical school this cycle, and am currently preparing to take the MCAT. I hopefully want to go into academia and research in the medical field, and one day hopefully join the field as a practicing oncologist! In my free time, I obsessively play tennis and follow the world tour!
BOS/NSM ICC Rep + Allopathic Chair: Daniel Eng
My name is Daniel Eng and I will be serving as the Allopathic Chair for SHPA in the 2021-22 year. I am currently a 4th year Biology Major with my concentration in Molecular Biology and Biotech. I am hoping to take the MCAT and apply for Medical Schools in 2022. When I’m not busy, I enjoy spending time with friends and family in person or online and chatting or playing games.
Osteopathic Chair: Manuel Pelayo
My name is Manuel Pelayo, and I’m the current Osteopathic chair for SHPA. I’m a Biology major here at CSUF, and I’m working towards applying to medical school in the near future. I hope to someday work in the pediatrics field, and for the past few years I have served as a volunteer in the pediatrics department of a hospital in my community. Outside of volunteering and my academics, I’ve been a life long gamer and I also enjoy spending a lot time in the gym as a way to de-stress.
Optometry Chair: Sanket Patel
My name is Sanket Patel and currently the Optometry chair for SHPA! I am currently in my 4th year at CSUF with a major in Biology. I also currently work at Corona Optometry as an Optometry Technician. I will be applying to schools pretty soon after I take my OAT. When I am not studying or in class, I enjoy playing basketball and watching sports.
PA Chair: Hasmik Petrosyan
My name is Hasmik Petrosyan, I am a first generation immigrant and have lived in California for the last 10 years of my life. I am a fourth year Biological Sciences major, concentrating in Cell and Developmental Biology, with a minor in Chemistry. I am the PA-chair for the 2021-2022 school year. Even though I plan on applying to both M.D. and D.O. schools, I have several years of experience working on PA applications and know a lot about the process. Besides being a pre-med student, I also love to paint. For over a year now I have sold my paintings and donated 100% of the profits to charity organizations. In the future I want to work as an OB-GYN specialist, maintain my painting fundraiser program, while also having time to travel the world.
Dental Chair: Jenna Dee Wackerman
My name is Jenna Dee Wackerman, and I am currently the SHPA Dental Chair for the 2021-2022 year! I am a 5th-year biology major with a concentration in cell and developmental biology. I plan to graduate in Spring 2022 and then take a gap year or so before applying for the 2023/2024 cycle. When I’m not studying (which isn’t often), I enjoy cooking, working out, and reading personal finance books.
