Schedule an Advising Appointment

Appointments are 20 minutes (personal statement reviews are 40 minutes). All appointments are made on-line and can be scheduled up to 14 days in advance. Meetings take place in UH-223. If appointments aren't available on our online schedule, please be patient and check back often as our online scheduler shows our adviser’s most up-to-date availability.

***NEW STUDENTS: If you have not made an appointment with our office before, you will first be asked to create an account, and confirm it via email. After you confirm your account please continue with booking your appointment. Confirming your account does not confirm your appointment . Please call or email if you have any reservations about whether or not your appointment has been booked.***

Online Advising via Adobe Connect

To meet the needs of our advisees, the Health Professions Advising office now offers online advising through Adobe Connect. Online advising allows the advisor to connect to the user in a virtual, real time environment using a web browser, either on your smart phone, tablet or computer. Entry into Adobe Connect will only be granted to scheduled advisees. When selecting your appointment type, select “Online advising via Adobe Connect”. At the date and time of your scheduled appointment, please visit: http://csufconnect.fullerton.edu/hpo. Select “guest” and enter your first and last name (please use the same name used when you scheduled your appointment). Entry into the online advising session won’t be granted unless the name entered into the guest section matches the name used to register for an appointment.

Once you are admitted into the advising session, you have the ability to talk via microphone and see the advisor on your screen.

We recommend that you test your Internet browser connection at least 5 minutes prior to your appointment, and use Firefox, if possible. Please visit: http://na1cps.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm to test your browser.

Virtual Office Coverage

For individuals wishing to speak with an office staff member during virtual office hours, an individual can do so following the same directions stated above, but do not need to schedule an appointment. He/she will need to visit http://csufconnect.fullerton.edu/hpo during our virtual office coverage hours. To maintain privacy, each individual will be helped one at a time. The staff member will accept the next visitor into the room once she is done assisting the other guest.

Please watch our helpful YouTube videos to prepare for your online advising session.

Schedule a Practice Interview

We advise students and alumni (less than one year) to meet with a counselor in the Career Center to perform a mock interview. Mock interviews are conducted by Career Center counselors to simulate as much as possible the conditions of an actual professional school interview. During or after the mock interview, the career counselor will provide the student with coaching and feedback. Each student will receive a DVD of his or her mock interview to review. Call the Career Center to Schedule a Mock Interview, at phone: (657) 278-3121 - Appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis. No same day appointments will be accepted.

Alumni (more than one year since graduation) should contact the Health Professions Advising office to learn more about the on-line resources that are available to graduates of CSUF.

To learn more about the Career Center’s mock interviews, please visit: http://campusapps2.fullerton.edu/career/students/mockinterviewsgradSchool.aspx

Schedule a Personal Statement

Our adviser does not suggest grammatical error corrections in personal statements. The writing department in the library can be of assistance in helping to find your grammatical errors. Counselors in the Career Center will also review your personal statements. You can then schedule an appointment to meet with our adviser to have your final or nearly final draft of your personal statement reviewed.

Phone Appointment

For those who do not live in close proximity to the University, we offer the option to schedule a phone appointment. An individual who registered for a phone appointment should call into the office on the exact date and time of their appointment. An office staff member will transfer you in to speak with our adviser. Please note for those who live out of state we are Pacific Standard Time (P.S.T).

Late Policy/No Show

If you do not cancel your appointment in time or do not show up, it will be recorded as a "No Show". If you arrive later than 5 minutes for your appointment, you will be asked to reschedule and it will be recorded as a "No Show".

We do understand that unexpected academic obligations, work commitments, commute issues and illnesses can affect your schedule. As a courtesy, contact us by phone during normal business hours to let us know of any change as early as possible. This will allow up to offer the time slot to another student.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your appointment we require at least 6 hours notice. You should cancel online via the Appointy log in screen or via your registration email.
