Dr. Margaret Skillman Woyski Scholarship or Field Camp Scholarship
Amount: Varies (up to $550)
Established by: This scholarship was established through the generosity of Dr. Woyski, her family, and the alumni and friends of the Department of Geological Sciences. The award will be made on the recommendation of the entire full-time faculty of the department.
Open to: This scholarship is open to declared Geology and Earth Science majors. Field Camp Scholarship in even number years; general scholarship in odd numbered years.
Criteria: Declared geology major with 2.5 G.P.A., financial need, Community/Department Service to the department, i.e., involvement in the geology club, tutoring or participation in faculty directed research. Community/Department Service, and Good Academic Standing

Clemens-Knott² Scholarship
Amount: Varies (up to $550)
Established by: This scholarship was established by faculty members Diane Clemens-Knott and Jeffrey R. Knott. The scholarship recognizes their desire to promote training in geologic field mapping.
Open to: This scholarship is open to undergraduates who will be attending the C.S.U. Fullerton field camp or a similar geologic-mapping-focused field camp in the upcoming Summer.
Criteria: Minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher, enrolling in GEOL 481A – Field Camp, or similar geologic mapping focused field camp, in the upcoming summer, Good Academic Standing and, Financial Need.
Recipient is selected by the Department of Geological Sciences faculty

David L. Willoughby Scholarship
Amount: Varies (up to $750)
Established by: This scholarship is given in memory of the late David Willoughby, an alumnus of the department. His family established the award in recognition of David’s passion for sedimentary geology and paleontology.
Open to: This scholarship is open to undergraduate students who are studying geology or paleontology, or who are participating in course-related fieldwork.
Criteria: Declared Geology major with G.P.A. of 2.5, Good Academic Standing, and Financial Need

CSUF Research and Instructional Safety Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Established by: This scholarship was established by three staff members from the CSUF Research and Instructional Safety Office (RISO): Sue Fisher – Director (retired), Skip Hines – Chemical Hygiene Officer (retired), and in memory of Irene Duncan – Secretary.
Open to: This scholarship is open to sophomore (30‐59 units) or junior (60‐89 units) students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in the Geology Department and have financial need.
Criteria: Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.

Amount: Varies (up to $550)
Established by: This scholarship is given through the generosity the alumni and friends of the Department of Geological Sciences.
Open to: This scholarship is open to declared Geology and Earth Science majors that will be enrolled in GEOL 481A – Field Camp, in the upcoming summer.

John D. Cooper Field Camp Scholarship
Amount: Varies (up to $550)
Established by: This scholarship was established in the name of the late John D. Cooper, who was a C.S.U.F. professor and renowned stratigrapher that valued geologic field work.
Open to: This scholarship is open to declared Geology and Earth Science majors that will be enrolled in GEOL 481A – Field Camp, in the upcoming summer.
Criteria: Awarded to a student who shows financial need, 2.5 G.P.A. or better, enrollment in GEOL 481A-Field Camp in upcoming Summer, declared geology or earth science major, and good academic standing.
Recipient to be selected by faculty of the Department of Geological Sciences.

Armstrong-Butcher Undergraduate Geology Conference Travel Grant
Amount: Varies (up to $500)
Established by: This scholarship was established by emeriti faculty Phillip Armstrong and Tish Butcher and recognizes their desire to promote undergraduate student attendance at professional meetings. A conference research presentation is not required.
Open to: This scholarship is open to declared Geology and Earth Science majors .
Criteria: Selection of awardee will be made based on quality of written statements.
