ADVISING

Important information about faculty advising this semester for Fall 2024 registration and other pertinent information and resources, so please read carefully.

Major/minor faculty advising for Fall 2024 registration is taking place April 8-19, the two weeks after spring break. In the next two to three weeks, you will be sent an invitation to schedule an appointment with your assigned faculty advisor. This invitation might come as a signup genius invite or another scheduling platform. Please don't ignore this email as this is your only chance to get departmental advising for the fall semester before registration opens up. You have a hold placed on your registration until you have seen your advisor, so no advising - no registration! If you miss advising during the advising period, you may get delayed for registering for classes and classes may fill up. Please note that even those of you who have been grad checked for fall graduation are required to attend advising: MAJOR ADVISING IS MANDATORY!

More important information and resources:

  1. You can start preparing for your meeting with your faculty advisor by taking a look at your TDA (Titan Degree Audit) and using the TitanNet Academic Planner accessed through your student portal to start planning out your courses for the fall. You can then discuss and finalize your list of classes with your advisor. Your advising hold will be removed after advising is completed, and you can register. To learn how to do access and use your TDA and the TitanNet Academic Planner, please watch this youtube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCEPUlDYN10
  2. If you need a reminder for how to register, please watch this youtube tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Bk5atuopSU
  3. For those of you needing a little extra help with your classes, the NSM success center in MH-488 has a wonderful team of free tutors for geology (that's our very own Joana Camargo currently) and most of your related fields courses (i.e., math, bio, chem, phys). To check out the tutoring schedule and to make an appointment with a tutor, please click here: https://www.fullerton.edu/nsmssc/tutoring/index.html

This service is free! Make use of it!
