Creating Excellent Leaders
Mentorship with the Future Scholars Programs is split into two distinct parts: Faculty/Staff Mentorship and LINKS (Peer) Mentorship.
Faculty & Staff Mentoring
Our Faculty and Staff mentors are an integral part of the Abrego Future Scholars program. They meet with our scholars on a consistent basis throughout the school year and serve as a source of support and guidance on campus. Some of the feedback we have received from students about their experiences is:
- "I feel more confident as a student, that I can actually make it through college and possibly go on to graduate school."
- "I learned about and received more scholarships because of my mentor."
Peer Mentoring
The mission of the Center for Scholars Peer Mentoring Program is to help create and promote a college-going
culture by providing support, mentorship, and appropriate resources for first-year students at the Center for Scholars.
Incoming Scholars will be assigned a Peer Mentor who will help them transition to CSUF. Peer Mentors perform a variety of academic and motivational activities, including mentorship, presentations, workshops, office support, and participate in various outreach events.
