Biography

Dr. Karim Hamidian is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at California State University Fullerton, CSUF. He received his Dr. of Electronics Engineering degree from University of Padova, Italy in 1981. He joined CSUF in 1984.  He has served as Acting Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Engineering and Computer Science during 1992- 1993. In addition, during the period of 1993-1998, he has served for one year as Acting Chair and then for several years as the Chair of the electrical engineering department. Because of his leadership and continuous efforts for several years as the Chair, the Electrical Engineering Program received for first time the best accreditation action possible without any deficiencies from the ABET in 1996.

 Dr. Hamidian has developed and proposed several graduate level courses in the areas of cellular wireless communications, spread spectrum communications, satellite communications and neural networks. He has supervised numerous graduate theses and projects in communications area, most which have produced joint publications with students in peer reviewed journals and or in peer reviewed conference proceedings. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his outstanding teaching, research and services. His research interests include wireless communications such as MIMO, OFDM, 4G-LTE and 5G- NR, spread spectrum and code division multiple access (CDMA) communications, and information theory and coding.

Professor Hamidian teaches courses in analog electronics, linear systems, electronic communication systems, wireless communications, and information theory and coding, decision and estimation theory, digital communications and phase locked loop, spread spectrum communications, and satellite communications.
