Biography

Professor Hassan H. Hashemi was born in Tehran, Iran. He received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston (U of H) in 1971 and 1973, respectively. He received his Ph.D., major in Dynamic Systems Control and minor in Operations Research and Engineering Technology, from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1977.

He has taught at a number of prominent institutions, e.g., University of Southern California (USC) and UCLA. He was an adjunct professor at USC. He joined CSUF in 1983. He has published many papers in the areas of control and communication.

His recent joint research titled Fuzzy Logic Modeling and Controller Design for a Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit was published in the Proceedings of the World Congress on Engineering and Computer Science (WCECS) 2013, and he recently coauthored a chapter of a book titled Transactions on Engineering Technologies: Special Issue of the World Congress on Engineering and Computer Science 2013. He is currently developing a software package in the area of fuzzy logic for Wolfram Alpha.
