NCUR 2023 Conference Overview:
The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) 2023
is now accepting abstracts.
Students across all academic disciplines are welcomed and encouraged to submit an abstract before November 30, 2022.
NCUR 2023 will take place on April 13-15, 2023, at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center (UROC) will support up to five students and five faculty and provide up to $1,800 for travel, registration and meeting expenses. We're hoping to get at least one representative from each college to attend NCUR 2023.
A Quick Start Guide to Participating in NCUR 2023:
1. Review student abstract submission types on NCUR 2023 website (Abstract Submission Overview page
)
2. Work with your research mentor to pick the appropriate abstract type. Prepare your abstract (250-300 words) and review it with your mentor prior to submission.
3. Review conference and pre-conference events carefully on NCUR 2023 website
.
4. Create an NCUR 2023 account using your CSUF email address.
5. Submit your abstract
on the website and indicate your interest in any pre-conferences (such as the WiSys Quick Pitch).
For this part, you need to provide the following information for each co-author and your faculty mentor: Name, Institution and Email address . Also, they will ask for information about your “Campus undergraduate research coordinator”. NCUR 2023 Pre-events (Optional):
Be informed that NCUR 2023 has two pre-conference events that you may consider applying for
WiSys Quick Pitch
WiSys Quick Pitch
limited-availability event takes place on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 12, 2023, where students will present a 3-minute oral summary of their research project and explain why their research matters. Cash prizes totaling $4,000 will be awarded to five first or second place winners in the various categories.
During your NCUR 2023 abstract submission, you will need to indicate your interest in the Quick Pitch Competition. Registration is limited to the first 80 students on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Mayo Clinic Health System and Medical College of Wisconsin SDoH Challenge
This challenge will be hosted on the morning of April 12, 2023, for students to address social determinants of health in order to improve health and health outcomes within the Mayo Clinic. In addition to having access to Mayo Clinic mentors and training, participants will have the opportunity for networking and discussion at the end of the challenge luncheon, where the winning team will be announced and awarded.
Application for the Mayo Clinic Health System SDoH Challenge will be open after acceptance and registration for NCUR 2023 and is due by Feb. 28, 2023.
