Dr. David Pagni
The Mathematical Association of America’s Tensor SUMMA (Strengthening Underrepresented Minority Mathematics Achievement) Program has awarded David Pagni, professor of mathematics, a $4,500 grant to support the Project Mathematics Intensive Summer Session – Tensor Grant proposal. The Mathematics Intensive Summer Session is an intensive math program that targets girls ages 14-18 from under-represented families in Orange County who may be the first in their families to aspire to go to college. The MAA is the largest professional society that focuses on mathematics accessible at the undergraduate level. Members include: university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and others in academia, government, business and industry. The funds awarded will be used toward student costs, such as meals and materials, during the summer session.
