All About Responsible Employee Reporting

This session is a professional development opportunity for all CSUF employees to learn more about what it means to be a Responsible Employee per CSU’s Nondiscrimination Policy. The session will introduce the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy, applicable policy definitions, and relevant campus departments. Employees will leave the session with a better understanding of when, why, and how to report matters to Office for Civil Rights and Equity. Participants will also receive sample language to use when describing their reporting responsibilities to others. Light refreshments served. RSVP online!

Office for Civil Rights and Equity Meet & Greet

Come meet the staff in the newly named Office for Civil Rights and Equity! Join us to learn about how we are growing and how we will continue to support CSUF students and employees. This event will begin with a brief introduction to our new office at 10:45am, followed by an opportunity to meet our team and ask any questions you may have. Refreshments will be served, and you are welcome to stop by when you can. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required.

Words Have Power: Understanding and Addressing Microaggressions

This interactive Zoom workshop emphasizes the power we all have to prevent and address microaggressions based on social identities. Feel free to enjoy your lunch at your desk or on the go and enjoy this personal and professional development opportunity! The session will review the importance of preventing and addressing intentional and unintentional comments and actions that may impact individuals’ sense of safety and belonging related to their age, disability, gender, gender expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, nationality, pregnancy or related conditions, race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or veteran/military status. Participants will leave the session with new skills and specific tools they can use to identify, address, and prevent microaggressions within and beyond the Cal State Fullerton community. Current Title IX Employee Ambassadors and Title IX Student Ambassadors are invited to refresh and expand their knowledge by attending this interactive Ambassador-only workshop and lunch. In addition to reviewing the protected statuses covered under the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy and exploring updates to CSU policy and campus resources, you will learn how you can continue to support the Titan community by appropriately advocating for more equitable spaces on campus. Students and employees who have already completed the Title IX Ambassador curriculum will leave this session as certified Civil Rights and Equity Ambassadors. Lunch provided.

The Civil Rights and Equity Employee Ambassador program is a professional development opportunity for all CSUF employees to learn more about campus resources related to equity issues on campus. Program participants will build skills to support colleagues and students who may be impacted by misconduct based on any protected status, including Age, Disability, Gender, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, Genetic Information, Marital Status, Medical Condition, Nationality, Pregnancy or related conditions, Race or Ethnicity (including color, caste, or ancestry), Religion or Religious Creed, Sex (including Sex Stereotyping or Sex Characteristics), Sexual Orientation, and Veteran or Military Status. Participants will also learn introductory principles for creating more inclusive spaces. The goal of the program is for Civil Rights and Equity Employee Ambassadors to feel prepared to offer accurate information to colleagues and students about everyone’s rights and options at CSUF related to the Office for Civil Rights and Equity.

Mandatory Training for Specific Groups

The Office for Civil Rights and Equity provides mandatory Title IX training for new and returning members of Sports Clubs, recognized fraternities and sororities, identified student organizations, Division I student-athletes, and specified groups of employees, including those working in Athletics and Housing and Residential Engagement. To learn more about mandatory Title IX training for specific populations, review the Training page or email titleixtraining@fullerton.edu.

Civil Rights and Equity Ambassador Programs

The Office for Civil Rights and Equity regularly hosts Ambassador programs for students and employees interested in learning how to create more inclusive and equitable spaces for community members of all identities and lived experiences. To request to be put on an interest list for either the Civil Rights and Equity Employee Ambassador Program or the Civil Rights and Equity Student Ambassador Program, please email titleixtraining@fullerton.edu
