Professor Waleed Rashidi teaches in the Communications department focusing on Entertainment and Tourism. His CSUF ties are strong as both he and his wife are alumni. Professor Rashidi’s students note that he is always encouraging and reliable. His service goes beyond the classroom, as is evidenced by his work as the Entertainment and Tourism Club’s advisor. He is an asset to his department as he has mentored a number of new faculty members in the Communications department. Each year he helps with Journalism Association of Community College’s events, and he has hosted several presentations for local community college students as a representative of CSUF.
Professor Rashidi is the newsletter editor for the Entertainment Studies Interest Group for the Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Professionally, he is a member of AEJMC, NCA (National Communication Association), and SPJ (Society of Professional Journalists). He also teaches the class that organizes Comm Week, a great communications event on campus. Professor Rashidi is the embodiment of what a great teacher should be: he mentors his students, has a wonderful sense of optimism and he takes great pride in his work. Without professors like Waleed Rashidi, the Titan community would not be the same. We thank Professor Rashidi for his service!
