From the moment Nursing Chapter Alumni arrived at Lucky Strikes – Hollywood & Highland on June 15 – everything was amazing! The food was good, replenishment was awesome and the participants had an amazing time bowling – so much so that no one wanted to leave when the event was over. Everyone enjoyed a great afternoon – time was even spent dreaming of possibly getting discovered by a big producer who was watching and would want to make everyone stars!
Greetings Nursing Alumni, Supporters and Friends,
I am writing to you with a very special request and I hope to take the time to read this letter in its entirety.
As some of you may already know, I started the CSU Fullerton Nursing Students Association (NSA) with a group of my peers back in Fall, 2006 during my first quarter as an undergraduate RN to BSN student. It was my hope then, as it is now, that nursing students would have a place on campus to network and support one another towards success in achieving their academic goals. Among all the different areas of study on campus, I believe it is essential to have and maintain a strong nursing presence. The School of Nursing continues to expand, creating new opportunities for future generations to become registered nurses and advance practice nurses. I am honored to be a Proud Titan!
I am thrilled that the current NSA president, Courtney Snyder , has revitalized the energy of the group and has embarked upon doing a Nursing Skills Boot Camp in August 2013 in an effort to give new and returning students an opportunity to practice and increase the experience with nursing skills. I am extremely passionate about garnering as much support for this Boot Camp as possible. As a registered nursing for over 30 years, I think that it is important for all of us to give of our time, energy, and resources to support the current CSU Fullerton nursing students. I would ask that you consider giving what you can to this event. Every donation would be appreciated regardless of the amount.
Thank you for your time and anticipated support of the Nursing Skills Boot Camp.
Austin Nation, RN, BSN ’09, MSN '11
President, CSU Fullerton Nursing Alumni Chapter
Baseball & Networking
Members from the Nursing Alumni Chapter and their families had a fantastic time as the CSUF Titans took on the Long Beach State Dirtbags on Sunday, May 15. Despite the early morning rain, the weather turned out to be a beautiful Sunday afternoon complete with the Titans winning the game.
Chapter President, Austin Nation '09 and '11 said, “I wanted to have a family event in honor of National Nurses Week to allow alumni members and their loved ones to come out to the ball park. I also wanted to give the nurses goodie bags with sweet treats, alumni merchandise and other fun stuff to enjoy the afternoon."
Chapter board member Debbie Byrum '09 echoed Austin's sentiments saying, "My family and I always love coming out to see the Titan baseball team play, they rank one of the best teams around." View Photos
