13th annual Nonprofit Professionals Alumni Chapter Award presented

NPAA

Jody Cajudo, a Health Science / Asian American Studies double major who expects to graduate in 2015, got a boost toward her ongoing studies on May 7, when she was presented with the 13th annual Nonprofit Professionals Award. The $1,000 scholarship is funded by alumni who work in the nonprofit sector and want to encourage fellow Titans to pursue careers in service. The award was presented by new Nonprofit Professionals chapter board member Danielle Talentino Tuason '06 at the annual Community Engagement Awards ceremony. Cajudo took time out from her regular Tuesday afternoon class to accept the award, and she was joined by all of her classmates and instructor Dr. Tu-Uyen Nguyen, who led the cheers in the packed ballroom. Donations to the award fund are welcome!

See www.fullerton.edu/NPAA for more information about the chapter and all the annual award recipients dating back to 2001.

Nonprofit Professionals Chapter Mixer at Women Helping Women

NPAA Chapter MixerYou don't have to be adept at Tweeting to have an effective professional presence online. That's the message that chief brand officer Eric Vonheim illustrated for the 35 guests who attended the Nonprofit Professionals Chapter mixer at Women Helping Women / Men2Work in Santa Ana on Wednesday, October 10. CSUF Alumni Association and chapter member Brateil Aghasi '05 hosted the event aimed at bringing together alumni and non-alums who work for nonprofit organizations. Vonheim's presentation ignited the crowd's grasp of the new ways that LinkedIn offers people to "brand" themselves professionally, connect with those whose professional interests we share, enhance our images through recommendations and endorsements, and harness this powerful tool for the benefit of our careers and our organizations. Brateil invited attendees to propose new topics and sites for future chapter events -- mixers can be organized anytime!
