Annual Gerontology Honors and Awards Banquet

Please come and support current students and our generous donors at the Gerontology academic department’s annual Honors and Awards Banquet. In addition to honoring this year's scholarship winners, we will also be initiating the new Sigma Phi Omega honor's society members.

Past winners are especially encouraged to attend; our donors love to hear about what our alumni are doing.

Annual Spring Chapter Brunch

The Gerontology Chapter of the Alumni Association welcomed alumni, faculty, students and guests to their annual networking brunch event. All gathered at the Ruby Gerontology Center patio, enjoyed the beautiful spring weather, meeting new friends and catching up with old friends. New leaders of the chapter, Connie Arteaga and Jena Reeder were welcomed as president and vice president.

Graduation Reception

Gerontology NewsThe CSUF Alumni Gerontology Chapter hosted a graduation reception for the class of 2013 on Saturday, May 25. Twelve star graduates and their enthusiastic supporters enjoyed the unforgettable day commemorating their great accomplishments, years in the making. 2008 Alumna and professional Gerontologist, Di Patterson, MSG, CPG, was the commencement speaker. She proved to be an enthusiastic, passionate, engaging, and practical inspiration to all those in attendance. Connie Arteaga, recipient of the Olli Exceptional Student Award, shared a personal and reflective message to her classmates and audience. After the ceremony, family, friends, and supporters enjoyed capturing moments with their graduates and meeting faculty and staff. The Gero Alumni Chapter provided food and refreshments for the attendees to enjoy before running off to continue weekend celebrations.

Our mission is to form an alliance that will strengthen the University, College of Humanities, and Social Sciences and its affiliation with the Institute of Gerontology in order to advance successful aging practices through education, research, and community service. This mission includes providing information and guidance to our students and alumni about careers and recent advances in the field of aging.
