Any University employee, including Student Employees, will almost inevitably come across or have access to confidential information. It is imperative that this information remain confidential. Cal State Fullerton is in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of all student education records.
Confidentiality of Student Personnel Records
All students' personnel records are confidential and must be shredded when they are discarded.
All new student employees are required to take the mandatory online Confidentiality training. To access the training please log onto your Student Portal and click on the tab labeled “Student Training”. If you do not see this tab please go to your profile and add it. Click on the Mandatory Student Training logo. Next click on the folder to have the list of mandatory trainings appear. Finally, click “Launch” next to the training you want to complete.
