I'll remember those editing sessions in his office, the cigarette ash begging to drop, the office clutter and the brilliant observations he'd make. I remember the first meeting with him. I had been an entertainment writer/editor at my community college newspaper in New York. I showed him my clips. He said, "You are good. Why do you want to go into news (writing)?
